Restrictions lifted on Palm Island’s only bar

Palm Island off north Queensland has been given State Government approval to sell wine and spirits at the community's only bar.
For nearly a decade, the only bar on Palm Island, the Coolgaree Bay Sports Bar, has been restricted to selling light and mid-strength beer.
Last year the bar applied to change its liquor licence so that it could also sell wine and mid-strength spirits.
