What is the NIT Poll?
NIT is compiling of list of Indigenous names and contact phone numbers
for the purposes of ongoing polling on issues of vital importance to the future
of Australia. For example, we might poll Indigenous people on how they intend
to vote in an upcoming election. This information is extremely important to
political parties, because if they know they haven’t got your vote, they might
work a bit harder to win it.
Why join the NIT Poll?
Information is power. All Australian Governments are driven by polls,
but currently there is no way to specifically gauge the opinions of Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander people. That means that at just 2.5 percent of the
population, your voice gets lost among the crowd.
What will happen with my details?
Your name and phone number will be stored on a private database and
will only accessed by NIT. YOUR DETAILS WILL NEVER BE PASSED ON TO ANY THIRD
PARTY.
When will we contact you?
NIT will conduct regular polls with the people in our database. It
depends to some extent on the size of the database, but you should expect to be
able to voice your opinions a couple of times a year.
